Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel ReviewWow, that title is a mouthful!It also sets up very high expectations especially when you see the impressive photo/video representation of the resort.Our stay there in early June of 2021 proved to be a mixed bag though…First off, we stayed in a Blue Lagoon Junior Suite which was absolutely gorgeous.It was more than enough room for two adults, very private, quiet, located conveniently and immaculately clean.It is the best hotel suite I’ve ever stayed at because it was set up as a villa rather than a gigantic hotel building with suites and rooms piled on top of each other.The staff was very attentive, enthusiastic and helpful.One of the hosts at the front desk even helped us with a snafu concerning a tour that we set up prior to staying at the hotel.She spent a fair bit of time and effort helping even though the tour was through a private company that had nothing to do with the hotel.Outside of the above descriptions, the luxury boutique hotel did not match or live up to their name or website images.Notably, the grounds and facilities are in need of repairs and TLC.A hurricane or two plus the pandemic have taken a toll on the place.We saw a resort trying to make a comeback with varying efforts.Even today as I write this, the images on their website do not match the reality we encountered.That nice looking dock stretching out into the pristine waters exists only as a small weathered wreck that barely extends beyond the beach.The beach itself is nowhere near the depth and breadth shown in the advertising photos.Unfortunately, we were there during the time a constant barrage of seaweed piles up along the coast from Cancun all the way to Tulum and beyond.The nearby resorts up and down the coast attacked the unwanted vegetation with differing amounts of exertion and methods.The Blue Diamond did not put much effort in cleaning up during the time we stayed there which rendered the beach all but unusable.The restaurants were all very, very good.Unfortunately, they were not all open while we stayed there.By the end of our 7 day stay, we were becoming bored with the somewhat limited menus.If you are considering this place make sure to ask several questions especially about the beach conditions.Finally, we set up a snorkeling excursion through the hotel concierge to make up for the above mentioned tour problem that ended up in a cancellation.The snorkel tour company was a new partnership with the hotel at the time.The hotel did not investigate this snorkel company at all and could not provide a detailed description about the tour, how it would be run, what to expect or to what location it would take us.We ended up with an experience vastly different than expected.It turned out to be something very challenging and not recreational for the most part.Again, ask several questions and if they do not provide answers, be forewarned.I would consider staying here again in the future only when there is no seaweed, all of the facilities are open and only if the resort matches the images I saw in their advertisements.

Hotel realmente bom para relaxar e um bom jantar. O ambiente aqui é para o público adulto, não para festas hardcore. A comida é em pequena porção e preparada com a qualidade em mente. Vou repetir a experiência tailandesa. O palácio poderia usar mais bicicletas para se mover. Eles têm uma boa seleção de música à beira da piscina, boa salsa e oldies. Really good hotel for relaxing, and good dining. The environment here is for adult crowd, not hardcore parties. The food is small portion and prepare with quality in mind. I will repeat Thai experience. The palace could use more bicycles to move around. They have a good selection of music by the pool, good salsa and oldies. There is a lot of humidity if you are not used to it

Horrible de 5 estrella no tiene nada

Es la tercera vez que nosotros vamos a este establecimiento de excepción ! Leo con tristeza ciertos comentarios muy negativos. Hay que saber que este hotel tiene la particularidad de encontrarse en un sitio reducido, largo de dos kilómetros entre la recepción y el mar. Durante los dos kilómetros, una selva tropical se abre a los huéspedes que saben apreciarla. Cenotes, lagunas, lagos, animales y pájaros típicos de la zona, es decir, un regalo para los ojos y los sentidos. Estos dos kilómetros se pueden hacer a pied, en bicicletas a disposición o en carritos eléctricos que pasan de tanto en tanto. Tres restaurantes proponen una gastronomía fina o típica de gran calidad u original y sana. Los desayunos son copiosos y excelentes ! El bar, abierto en permanencia, permite beber sin límites y casi sin horarios. Todos los dos días este hotel, propone espectáculos de calidad.Un SPA de alta calidad y de confortable esta a disposición de los huéspedes.Las habitaciones son muy amplias y el servicio de limpieza excelente.No se trata de un hotel para hacer un “negocio” tomando los precios más bajos. No es un hotel law cost y de ese hecho, recomiendo tomar el servicio todo incluido.Cierto que en esta última estadía hemos sentido que ciertos servicios no se encontraban en la excelencia habitual.Hay que tener en cuenta que el hotel estuvo cerrado nueve meses a causa de la situación sanitaria y que debió soportar dos huracanes y una tormenta tropical.Por estas razones hemos encontrado algunos defectos como problemas con el agua caliente, con la bicicletas, las cuales no estaban en buen estado y eran escasas. Cierta lentitud en algunos servicios, pienso dada a la falta de personal a causa de la situación sanitaria y pequeñeces con poca importancia.Lo más importante, es decir, la tranquilidad, la belleza de encontrarse en un sitio fabuloso, el mundo animal, los servicios, la calidad, la amabilidad y la competencia de casi todo el staff, se encontraba a pesar de las situaciones que vivió el hotel.Mi consejo, tomen una estadía en all inclusive, es más caro pero lo merece sin ninguna duda. Hagan abstracción de los pequeños defectos dados a la situación y a las sargasses que lamentablemente todos la costa debe soportarlas y aprovechen de un hotel raro, particular y casi único en el mundo.

From the second me and my girlfriend arrived, the detail to customer service has been impeccable. The housekeeping all the way up to the manager Ahmed go above and beyond to fulfill all of your wildest dreams. The food is unbelievable. Going to be back in 6th moths. LOVE THIS RESORT!!

Beautiful facility and excellent service. The food and drinks were delicious. The rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The only downside was the seaweed on the beach, but that was pretty much outside of anyone's control.

Delightful trip to Playa del Carmen My wife booked this trip for my birthday and it was an excellent experience. From our welcome by Aldo at the front desk to the cart rides by Pedro to the tremendous service at the restaurants from Miguel, Margarita, Omar, Beatriz, Dago, Ulises, and Martin, everything was great. The food was tasty, the facility was very nice, and the staff was incredibly accommodating. We had some minor issues with the sun shades in the room and the housekeeping staff was quick and responsive. The trip is what you make of it and the Blue Diamond staff makes every effort to help you make the most of the experience. They adhered to COVID protocols with all employees wearing masks and plenty of hand sanitizing stations throughout the resort. We would return to this resort and recommend it. More

A comida era excelente e o resort estava limpo. Edin, Roman, Moses, Eduardo, Misael e Carmen foram INCRÍVEIS !!! O quarto era espetacular e enorme, com janelas do chão ao teto, 2 chuveiros, champanhe na chegada. Eles têm bicicletas para você andar e explorar o resort. Carrinhos de golfe que o levam do saguão até a piscina. A área da piscina é muito bom, mas não ficamos impressionados com a praia. Havia montes de algas marinhas por toda parte. Era horrível de se olhar e a água não estava clara até que você chegasse bem longe no oceano. Escusado será dizer que passamos o tempo todo na piscina como a maioria dos convidados. Fora isso, já estou fazendo planos para voltar. Se você está procurando um lugar tranquilo, relaxante e intimista, este é o lugar para você!

A pior estadia possível. Do check-in em nosso quarto, ele estava cheio de formigas e cheirava a repelente de insetos. Liguei e falei com a recepção (Alberto) e eles disseram que podem me mudar para outro quarto, mas terei que pagar um extra de $ 150 / a noite. Decidimos ficar em nosso quarto e lidar com isso. Eu vou ao restaurante e a comida é absolutamente terrível. Dizem que é tudo incluído, mas você tem que pagar cada vez que o serviço de quarto chega ao seu quarto. Liguei e pedi uma garrafa de coroa para vir no meu quarto e o Alberto diz que para o meu quarto não consigo a coroa. Por que não diz no site deles que se eu conseguir um quarto melhor, terei comida e álcool melhores? Quando falei com o Alberto ele disse que me ligaria de volta e nunca ligou. Então, quando eu ligo de volta, eles mentem e dizem que ligaram quando eu estava no meu quarto o tempo todo. Minha esposa e eu estamos comemorando nosso aniversário e estamos tendo a pior experiência possível. FAZ NÃO FIQUE AQUI. Eu estava aqui há 3 anos, era bom, mas agora é o pior resort que já fui com o pior serviço. Até mesmo o café que trouxeram para o meu quarto era velho e tem estado sentado fora por um tempo. Eles são tão baratos para um hotel 5 estrelas? Economize seu tempo e dinheiro e ignore este lugar. Nem uma vez o gerente se desculpou, ele só fica dizendo que porque eu tenho um quarto barato, eu consigo álcool barato e um serviço ruim.

The food was EXCELLENT and the resort was clean. The Rooms were large and comfortablehowever as some reviewers mention some of the features dont work or need attention. The toilet had to be unstopped 3 times finally I said just leave me the plunger 😡. The outside tub did not work if you wanted to use it you had to call maintenance to fill it up and empty it. The staff was really helpful and polite

The absolute worst stay possible. From checking into our room it was filled with ants and smelled like bug spray. I called and spoke with the front desk (Alberto) and they said they can move me into another room but I will have to pay an extra $150/a night. Decided to stay in our room and deal with it. I go to the restaurant and the food is absolutely terrible. They say it’s all inclusive but you have to pay every time room service comes to your room. I called and asked for a bottle of crown to come to my room and Alberto says that for my room I can’t get the crown. Why doesn’t it say on their website that if I get a better room, I get better food and alcohol? When I spoke with Alberto he said he would call me back and he never did. Then when I call them back they lie and say they called when I was in my room the entire time. Wife and I are celebrating our anniversary and we are having thee worst experience possible. DO NOT STAY HERE. I was here 3 years ago it was good but now it’s the worst resort I’ve ever gone too with the worst service. Even the coffee they brought to my room was old and has been sitting out for a while. They are so cheap for a 5 star hotel? Save your time and money and skip over this place. Not once has the manager apologized he just keeps saying because I have a cheap room, I get cheap alcohol, and bad service.

This resort had amazing views, it felt like I was in the jungle. The wildlife and grounds were beautiful. The food was amazing, the staff was very friendly, but the service was a little slow. Edin, Roman, Moses, Eduardo, Misael and Carmen were AWESOME!!! The room was spectacular and huge with floor to ceiling windows, 2 showers, champagne on arrival. They have bikes for you to ride and explore the resort. Golf carts that ride you back and forth from the lobby to the pool. The pool area is very nice but we were not impressed with the beach. There were mounds of seaweed everywhere. It was awful to look at and the water wasn't clear until you got far our into the ocean. Needless to say we spent the entire time at the pool like most of the guests. Other than that I am already making plans to go back. If you are looking for somewhere that is peaceful, relaxing and intimate, this is the place for you!

Habitaciones muy amplias y modernas, la atención y servicio del personal realmente bueno, gran variedad de alimentos gourmet a la carta y una gran variedad bebidas premium.

Excelente sin embargo no fue bueno no tener albercas o jacuzzi con agua caliente.Más porque desgraciadamente nos tocó con el clima frío. Pero el servicio y la comida excelentes

This was an amazing resort. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff were super nice. The actual resort and rooms are gorgeous and have everything you could want including great room service. The spa had a really nice steam room + sauna with an outside Jacuzzi which was nice under the cool rain. Would definitely go back.

I recommend this place. Adults only. That means you can take your better half there to catch up with what is important in life. (Your relationship) staff is amazing as well as the food. The location you can't beat. Slow pace, tranquil, romantic. The rooms are surrounded by vegetation. I recommend the Temescal (sweat lodge included with your stay!)

We just ended our amazing vacation to Blue Diamond. What a beautiful resort! The service was top notch. Special thanks to Roman at Aquamarine, David who took care of us on the beach, and Manuel and Salvador at the poolside bar. The extra care and attention made our vacation even more special! The massages at the spa were just the best. Our visit was for my birthday and Blue Diamond did not disappoint. Everyone went out of their way to make my birthday so special. We are already planning our next trip back! Thank you all again for such a lovely vacation.

This place is top notch. It's Ritz Carlton service without the high ticket. The staff is delightful, the rooms are so big and the decor is really pretty. The food is great. I'll be back for sure!!!

Amazing experience. Nice quiet resort. Great place if you want to get away and relax. Food is made to order and the staff is very accommodating. Shout out to Pedro for making sure our breakfast was great every day. Make sure you get your bicycles early as they can take a while to get.
