We had a terrible experience here! We stayed for 3 days, 2 nights and every single day the toilet flooded. Even after they sent someone to "fix" it, the toilet was still slow when flushing nothing. The third time it overflowed, water poured into the hallway and under the bed. We called to the front desk to report it immediately and their response was, "Nobody can come in until after 7am. You can come downstairs and get more towels if you need." It took 45 minutes for anyone to show up and help. We had to call AGAIN to remind them we needed help. The actual maintenance staff/engineers who helped us were very nice. I felt bad for them because this was a recurrent issue. At the same time our toilet was overflowing, they also had to deal with a ceiling leak several floors down. The cleanliness of the room itself was okay. When we initially arrived there were a couple of short curly hairs on the bathroom sink, which fortunately we could rinse down the drain. Still, that shouldn't have even been an issue. The room smell was awful, like chemicals covering up for a smoker. It was insanely strong at first and only faded slightly over the course of 3 days. The location itself is fine because there's plenty within walking distance. Just be prepared to sleep poorly. You'll hear sirens you'll through the night since the fire station is nearby. Probably the only good thing here is that the staff are very nice. Overall, we were disappointed in our stay and hope people steer clear of this hotel. We are warning our friends and family to stay away, and personally, we will NEVER book here again. [Just rechecked our booking and realized I accidentally posted my initial review to the wrong location. I confirmed with my husband the 33 W Illinois location is correct]

Mixed experience. Hotel personal was great/professional/courteous/attentive. Loved the room. ( unlike most suites that I've book, here, there were no kitchenware: silverware/dishware/glassware.)Suggestion: change the mattress board from metal to wood. (Less bed movement noise.) Hotel location is great (except for the persistent fire/emergency alarm runs. [Right down the street] Not your fault! We chalked it up as part of the downtown experience 🙂) Would return again possibly, if the rates are right, now that I know what to expect. So if the rating board seems strange, well, at least that was my experience!

I'd stay again Rooms: Our room was on average 76 degrees, regardless of the setting which made sleeping quite difficult and uncomfortable. The foot of our mattress was much higher than the head. We needed to sleep backwards to accommodate the slant. The lack of lighting made it extremely difficult to see. There isn't an overhead light, relying all on wall mounted lighting or lamps - which were installed with a rustic-like light feel which was cute but useless as far as lights go. We used the large window as our main light source. Service: VALET was super helpful and friendly. Calling to valet line to notify pickup, however, never went through after 20 minutes. Call the main desk line instead. Front desk was super easy and helpful. Always accommodating when in need. Breakfast was always busy, but went smoothly and they all were very friendly. Location: absolutely loved this location. Close to shopping and eatery. Rarely needed to call a ride to anywhere once we arrived. We walked nearly everywhere which was a nice cost and time saver.

There is a lot of good about a stay at this particular Hampton Inn. The employees are friendly. The beds are comfortable. The rooms are clean and roomy. The breakfast was actually more than we expected. The location. Is terrific in terms of walking to the theater, to restaurants and to local attractions. Two things keep this from being a four star review. The first is the fact that this Hampton is located directly across the street from the fire station. We were awakened several times during the night due to the alarms going off and the fire equipment heading out. The second has to do with the extra charge for early entry to the room. If you get a notice that your room is ready, you should not be charged for early entry unless that is clearly stated in the text notice. The charge was removed once we complained but it should never have been on our bill.

We are in the middle of a 2 week stay at this property and we've had a wonderful experience so far. We have needed quite a bit of assistance with our reservations and the front desk staff has gone above and beyond to help us! We are so appreciative of their service. Btw our room is very clean and comfortable. Yes, there are fire trucks but you are in the heart of the city - that's what you hear. Thank you all for making our stay a very pleasant experience!

Had a wonderful time at this hotel! The staff was very friendly and helpful.Room was clean, nice big flat screen Samsung TV mounted on the wall.Breakfast, it was Exceptional! Don't forget to bring swim attire to take a dip in the heated swimming pool.I enjoyed my stay!!

This is a good central location to downtown. Parking is challenging so be prepared for that cost. They offer breakfast but it gets busy later in the morning. There's an indoor pool but often crowded so difficult to do any laps. Easy walking to many destinations. If you are comfortable riding a bike in traffic, it's a short distance to a great path along the lake front. Some of the front desk were rather condescending when asked about amenities and procedures for the hotel and parking. The bed was uncomfortable. If you slept near a side it felt like there was poor support and that you were tilting out of the bed. Had to sleep in the middle of the bed. Our room was right across from the elevator so you get that noise. Then the window facing the street is near the fire house. So you had emergency sirens often through the night.

We arrived super late because of a flight delay, but Nicole greeted us with a smile. After sharing that this was our anniversary trip, she upgraded us to a King Suite on the top floor!!!! Wow!! So lovely!! The room is clean and comfortable and nicely furnished. Breakfast was tasty each morning with different options every day. Everyone we came in contact with was kind and helpful. Can't say enough good things about this hotel.

Service was great. Downside was the refrigerator didn't work, no bathroom fan ( if it was there it didn't work). Overall good. Parking on your own is $49 and it's 2 blocks away. Valet is $59. I chose valet. Valet was very kind and quick.

Hotel was great in every way. I though the complimentary breakfast was the best of any Hampton Inn we've ever stayed at. The valet parking team was terrific, as was the concierge. Room was clean and comfortable and quiet .... with the exception of the occasional firetruck on the streets below. I will most definitely stay at this location on a return to Chicago. It was an utterly wonderful trip, many great memories, and having the hotel there as "home base" during our stay was big part of that. Especially appreciated Cecily checking in with me several times during the stay to see how things were going, Thanks!!!

The manager here took it upon himself to advise me that. I wasn't allowed to book a room for my daughter, using my points. He said it was against company policy. I have never had this problem with any other Hilton properties. I have booked rooms for my family members multiple times prior. Customer service even tried to call him and explained that this shouldn't be a problem. Not sure why he had such a poor attitude. But be warned if you're making reservations here for your family.

Make sure to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ .ᴄᴏᴍ when booking any room. They compare thousands of hotel sites and normally will have rooms much cheaper than others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of the most well known in this area. I have been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few nights you definitely won't be disappointed. Very nice accommodations. Loved the room and the complimentary breakfast. In addition, the staff was great. Would definitely stay there again.

The staff is so friendly and everything was very clean in this crazy pandemic. I felt very safe and homie in our room! A lot of construction was going on, but it was never a bother during the stay in our room!

The up grades of the room. I booked a King side bed on your website got to the hotel, Front Desk told me I booked a double queen which I would have not because it was my anniversary with my husband.

The hotels location was perfect. Downtown and walkable distance to everything. Great food options all around. Maybe put a larger sign up. The front is being renovated so we passed it in the Lyft several times because the sign was barely visible at night.

The staff at the front desk was more than accommodating The sirens from the nearby fire station were a little annoying- of course this is of no fault of the hotel. I would just recommend bringing a small fan or sound machine to help drown out the noise.

The staff was INCREDIBLY cheerful and accommodating to me right away at check-in, including the valet. Every question I had was answered fully. The room was immaculate! Exceptionally clean. The bed was very comfortable, too. The valet parking was pricy at $59/night.
